Well, Wednesday morning snow came. We were super excited. The kids and I went out and played. There wasn't much snow, maybe a couple of inches. The kids couldn't even make a snow ball without picking up dirt. We went in to rest. Mallory texted me a blizzard was coming and was coming today. Marshall and I went outside and there was already at least a foot of snow, this was 2 hours later. We took turns shoveling then Marshall would move the car back a few feet, shovel, move car.
Marshall's Uncle Dave called and told us the road from Pine to Payson was closed. So we stopped and went in.
The next thing we know it is a full blown blizzard. We had enough food to last till Thursday morning. So we literally rationed everything we had. Snacking was out. Can you imagine how hard that is with 3 kids including a toddler? That's the only way Emma really eats. Then strange little miracles started.
Miracle #1
The kids didn't complain about what we ate. Usually there are some options.
Miracle #2
The kids didn't fight. Not once. They didn't even throw a fit when they couldn't go outside.
Miracle #3
Marshall called a Man named Chuck who was head of the HOA or something. We asked what we could do to get out. He told us we were stuck. Marshall told him we were running out of food and he managed to arrange a food box from some of the neighbors in a blizzard!
Miracle #4
Marshall left in heavy snow wearing tennis shoes and jeans pulling a sled to pick up the food box from Chuck walking! Marshall came back an hour and a half later frozen. He called me from the end of the driveway asking for help. Aimee doing everything 1/2 way hurries and only puts shoes on 1/2 way. Didn't expect snow to go to my upper thigh. Lost shoes. Had to go up the driveway in socks. We got Marshall warmed up and put the heaven sent food away.
The hardest part was putting kids to bed hungry.
We were stuck until Sat.
It took 3 hours to dig out the car but when we did we were out of there!

Holy Cow! The first thing I said when Matt saw Marshall's Facebook was...I bet they don't have food! I can't believe y'all were up there that long, and you really did experience some serious miracles. Oh my gosh, as much as we have wanted you guys to go up there in the snow...we didn't wish that on you. Glad you are home, safe, sound and finally warm! One thing is for sure, this will be one of those stories you and the kiddos will remember forever!
